Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself. -- John Dewey
I have a PhD from Walden University. My dissertation was entitled "Independent Retail Business Owners' Perception of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act." This study examined the strategic response of independent retail businesses in Hillsborough county, Florida, to the implementation of the Employer Mandate of the PPACA. The Employer Mandate requires most small businesses to offer health insurance benefits to their employees or face tax penalties. There is a great deal of information on this and similar topics in the media, but so far there has been very little written in the peer-reviewed literature. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first published study of it's kind for this geographic area.
I have a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baylor University in Entrepreneurship and Management (double major), and I have a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Tampa. I have completed my Ph.D. in Management from Walden University, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). I finished the program with a 4.0 GPA.
